Andrew Harvey, known as “Harvey,” is the Managing Director of Harvey Bricklaying Ltd.
He has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the brick and block laying industry. His career began at the age of 16 when he completed an apprenticeship in Auckland, New Zealand. This early start provided him with foundational skills and knowledge that would serve him throughout his professional journey.
At the age of 21, Harvey took a significant step by starting his own business. This allowed him to grow his skills independently and build a reputation in the industry. Over the years, he has operated businesses in various locations, including Auckland and Queenstown, which have contributed to his diverse experience.
Harvey’s career includes a notable five-year period spent in Sydney, Australia, where he worked as a Leading Hand on large commercial projects. One of the most significant projects during this time was the Barangaroo project, which is a multi-million dollar development located on the waterfront of Sydney’s central business district.
Working on such large-scale projects not only honed his technical skills but also enhanced his ability to manage complex operations and collaborate with diverse teams.
After returning to New Zealand, Andrew Harvey settled in the Bay of Plenty region with his wife and daughter. He now focuses on providing comprehensive brick and block laying solutions through Harvey Bricklaying Ltd.
Harvey is still the main foreman on the sites, making sure the quality of work is of a high standard and jobs are run seamlessly.
